Students Lay Wreath at Pte Thomas Shearman's Grave

Newly appointed Senior Students, Crystal, Safaa and Abdus-Samad visited the grave of Private Thomas Shearman at Edgerton Cemetery. The students placed a wreath on his grave to mark a 100 years since Private Shearman passed away from his injuries sustained at the battle of Vimy Ridge in 1917.

 
Private Shearman was evacuated from the battlefield and transported to Royds Hall hospital but sadly died from his injuries six days after arriving.
 
School are in contact with Thomas' family in Canada, the family hope to visit school and Thomas' grave sometime in the near future.
