Bradford Peace Museum Visit

This week we have had a travelling exhibition from the Bradford Peace Museum in school working with the Humanities department and some of our GCSE and Year 7 students. Students have been given the chance to put themselves in the shoes of two brothers from the Bradford area who had to choose whether or not to sign up to fight at the start of the First World War.

Through the lives of Eric and Fred Crowther, the Choices exhibition let us think about the different reasons why some men went to fight while others became conscientious objectors. As Jude Wright from the museum told us the brothers made very different decisions. Students were then asked to think about what they would do and just like the brothers, they too made different decisions. It was really interesting to hear the debates of the new generation at our school over such important issues...
