Reminders & Messages

Christmas Break

School closes on Friday 19th December and reopens Monday 5th January 2026.

Staff Leavers

Mr G Sullivan, Teacher of Geography

We would like to thank Mr Sullivan for his tremendous contribution over the past four years. Joining us as a Teach First graduate, he quickly established himself as a dedicated and inspiring teacher of Geography. Beyond the classroom, Mr Sullivan has made a huge impact in the area of Student Leadership, where he has been instrumental in developing the school’s strategy and supporting student leaders to take an active and increasingly influential role in school life. His commitment, vision, and encouragement have left a lasting legacy, and we wish him every success in the next stage of his career.

Miss J Taylor, Head of Art / Photography

We would like to pay tribute to Miss Taylor for her exceptional contribution as Head of Art and Photography, as well as her teaching in Design Technology over the last three years. Her impact on pupils has been outstanding, with results in Photography rising significantly under her leadership. Beyond academic success, Miss Taylor has inspired a genuine love of learning in the Arts, encouraging creativity and confidence in all her students. Her enthusiasm and dedication have enriched both her department and the wider school community. At Christmas, Miss Taylor will be leaving us to take up the role of Head of Art and Photography at a school in Sheffield, and we wish her every success in this exciting new chapter.

Miss O Morgan, Teacher of Design Technology

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Miss Morgan for her dedication and commitment after three years of service. Having taught Design Technology, Food, and Art, she has inspired pupils with her creativity and care, always ensuring that every student felt supported and encouraged. Her collaborative spirit and the way she worked so well with her team have left a lasting impact on our school community. As she moves on at Christmas to continue her teaching journey at another school, we wish her every success and happiness in this next chapter.

Remembrance Day

The Junior Leadership team and students who are Cadets / Explorers took part in our Remembrance Day service.

We visited Edgerton Cemetery and laid wreaths on the graves of the soldiers who passed away at Royds Hall.

A special mention to Iris Wilson who brilliantly performed 'The Last Post'.

Children in Need

Thank you to our parents, students and staff who donated to Mr Lee and Mr Townsend's Step Up Challenge for Children in Need.

We raised a huge £1064.58!

Restart a Heart Day

Mr Glover led sessions throughout the day for all students, teaching them how to perform CPR, giving them the skills and confidence needed to save a life.

Channel 4 Careers Workshops

Students had the exciting opportunity to work with Channel 4 in a series of interactive workshops.

The sessions aimed to broaden students’ understanding of careers within the media industry, explore a variety of job roles, and help them identify their own skills and strengths.

Each workshop included a practical group challenge where students were assigned different roles and collaborated to create an advert for a documentary giving them a real taste of teamwork and creativity in the media world.

Matilda! The Musical

In Performing Arts, we kicked off the term with a trip to Bradford's Alhambra Theatre to see "Matilda! The Musical".

The trip was an opportunity for our GCSE students to experience live theatre and review the artistic choices as part of the GCSE course.

Years 11, 10 and a select group of Year 9 students joined the trip and got the thrill of experiencing one of the West End's most iconic and beloved musicals.

A great day out was had by the students and lucky staff members who got to accompany students.

Students left invigorated and inspired by the musical and learned "even if you're little you can do a lot"!

Look out for more opportunities in Performing Arts in 2026!
