Year 11 information

GCSE Results Day – 24th August 2023 - 9:00am - 11:00am

I am writing to share with you key information regarding Year 11 Results Day which will take place on Thursday 24th August 2023.  The school will be open from 9:00am until 11:00am to collect results. If students would like someone else to collect results on their behalf, please complete the form below indicating the relationship to the student, the nominated person collecting the results, must show photo ID when collecting. Please submit the form to the Exams Office or email it to ann.booth@sharemat.co.uk. Alternatively, if students would like your results posted home, please indicate on the form below and provide a stamped addressed envelope (a small envelope is fine). Please note that if posted, students and parents/carers will not receive your results until after the date above.

Important Procedures for the day:

  • Students will collect their results from the Sports Hall. They will enter the Sports Hall via the fire exit facing the Tennis Courts
  • Signage will be in place to show the one-way system that will operate to safeguard all students
  • Students must collect the results from the Sport Hall on their own, a parent/career can wait outside the Sports Hall for them should they require further support
  • In the Sports Hall, the students will have the opportunity to either see a member of Senior Leadership Team, the careers team or the wellbeing team to help support with the exam results and give guidance on next steps or to answer any questions regarding results.

Certificates:

Certificates usually arrive in the Autumn Term after results have been issued. These are handed out at the KS4 Awards Evening, usually in November or December (date to be confirmed). Exam boards state that certificates may be destroyed after one year. We would therefore advise that if students are unable to attend the Awards Evening, they should collect certificates as soon as possible after Awards Evening. These must be collected in person from Main Reception. We are unable to post certificates home.

Review of marking:

If the school or you have a concern and believe a result may be inaccurate, we will discuss this with you when you pick up your results on Thursday 24th August, asking for your written consent to remark, ensuring you understand that a grade may remain the same, increase and in some cases decrease after a review of marking has taken place.

Wellbeing:

Your mental health and wellbeing are important to us.  There are many platforms you can access to help support you whilst you wait for and after you receive your results.  If you feel you need it, you can find addition support on kooth.com.  I would recommend you attend the webinar for parents/careers on supporting students on results day.  Visit https://bit.ly/3nxLnp0 to learn more.
