Restart a Heart Day

Added: October 30th, 2017

Students took part in the Restart a Heart Day, an initiative developed by the European Resuscitation Council. It was launched to teach members of the public how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.

Members of Yorkshire Ambulance Service, both ex Royds Hall students, Yorkshire’s Fire and Rescue service and Community First Responders all helped to deliver the training.

Everyone was taught how to perform CPR, practicing on inflatable manikins, they were also taught how to put a casualty in the recovery position.

Students felt the training session was very useful and would feel confident if they had to carry out CPR in an emergency situation.
