Luck Lane Fun Day

Added: October 20th, 2016

On Saturday 15th October, 2016 children, staff, governors and their families as well as members from the local community enjoyed a fun day to mark the opening of the newly built primary at Royds Hall Community School.

To mark the occasion a number of traditional fairground stalls were set up in the playground that appealed to the young as well as the older! Families enjoyed winning a coconut or two on the coconut shy, demonstrating their strength on high striker as well as testing out their reactions whilst playing splat the rat. The most popular attractions were the family treasure trail around the new build and the face painting both of which were run by Royds Hall senior school students. Delicious refreshments were baked by Kirklees catering and served by the school admin team.

Melanie Williams, Executive Head of Royds Hall Community School said:

“We were pleased to be able to put on such a wonderful community event for the local residents as well as the staff and pupils of the school. We were all delighted that so many people joined us on the day as it meant we could thank them for their support over the past 2 years whilst the building was being constructed.”
