Heritage Open Day 2016

Added: September 16th, 2016

On Saturday 10th September, students from our school had an amazing start to the year when they were tour guides around our historic building for Heritage Open Day. This was the first time that Royds Hall participated in the nationwide project.

After developing displays and undergoing training, eleven volunteers took almost 100 people around the building, explaining its history as a mansion house, a First World War hospital and as a grammar, secondary modern, comprehensive and most recently community school. Many visitors were Royds Hall alumni and also shared their experiences of the school with the current students. It was a really fantastic day and we will be taking part again next year.
