Diversity Week- Jonathan Booth

As part of the schools Diversity week, Mr Schofield did a presentation to Year 7 on Diversity in Sport. This presentation looked at athletes who are lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender alongside other areas such as the raised profile of disability sport. To support this and to link in with the 2016 Rio Olympics, he also spoke about the Olympic and Paralympic values supported with the introduction of the Invictus Games.

We were also honoured to be joined by Jonathan Booth who has been selected to represent Great Britain in the 400m freestyle at the Rio Paralympics. Jonathan spoke about his condition and his experience as an athlete answering some really thought provoking questions from our students.

We would like to thank Jonathan and wish him all the best for Rio.
