Students Learn About Palestinian Refugee Camp

Added: May 10th, 2018

Royds Hall students travelled to Bolton to meet a group of young Palestinians to find out what it is like to grow up in a Palestinian refugee camp.
The students heard about being the third and fourth generation of Palestinians who are forced to live in the very confined area of Askar Refugee Camp in Nablus. They were told some very harrowing stories from the young Palestinians, who were the same age as our students. However there was also a lot of hope, particularly as we heard about the Nablus Culture Centre and how the young people attending the centre can take part in drama, art and music.

The young people demonstrated their excellent dancing skills with routines they had learnt at the centre.
