Aspire to Play Toy Library

Added: April 22nd, 2016

The new Aspire to Play Toy Library opened for the first time at Royds on Friday 15th April. The library has been funded by the Kirklees Rural Committee and is run by Clare Ackroyd, Library Manager at Royds Hall with a group of volunteer students from the secondary phase. Each week students in Reception and Year 1 will be able to borrow toys and games from the library for the bargain price of 50p per week.

It was wonderful to see the children and parents choosing a game or toy and talking about how excited they were to get home to play together. There’s no cost to join and each member is issued with a library card once they have signed the terms and agreement form. As time goes on, members will see the stock of toys grow, with lots of choice to prevent the children from becoming bored. If you have any good quality toys that you no longer need, we would be very grateful for your donations.

If you would like to volunteer to help run the library at any of our Trust partner schools please contact Clare Ackroyd on 01484 463366.
