Added: March 12th, 2014

Twenty students from Royds Hall, along with six from local partner primary schools and two students from Huddersfield New College travelled to London to visit the Houses of Parliament. After touring the Houses of Parliament, students had the opportunity to meet with Jason McCartney, a local MP for the Colne Valley. During the meeting with Jason McCartney, he explained his role in Parliament before being open to questions from the students, such as, what are his opinions and thoughts on current topical matters such as fuel duty and tax evasion.

After leaving the Houses of Parliament, students had chance to visit some famous London attractions such as Buckingham Palace, The Mall and Trafalgar Square.
