Headteacher's Welcome

Royds Hall Community School is a successful and over-subscribed through school providing first-class education for 1160 children from age 3 to 16 across three sites, with 11-16 students based in the Wilson Building, 4-11 at Luck Lane Primary and 3-11, including nursery, at Beech Primary.

British Cycling

On Friday 14th July we welcomed Chris Young from British Cycling in to school to work with our students. In the morning our West Yorkshire Youth Games Cyclocross team had a brilliant session and their skills were really developed particularly on some tricky descents.


Achievement Points

Over the course of the year students pick up achievement points which they can use to purchase rewards from basic equipment to vouchers etc.


School Performance: Guys and Dolls

60 students from Royds Hall Community School took to the stage to bring Guys and Dolls to life through acting, dance and song.


Music for Youth in Birmingham

Our school choir and Band Skills group (who are now known as ‘the Chaos Theory’) recently took part in the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham.


Whole School Celebration

On Thursday 29th June we held our annual Whole-School Celebration to award prizes to students for their hard work and dedication over the year.


Poetry Workshop For Diversity Week

London-based poet Keith Jarrett came to Royds and Beech as part of Diversity Week to run poetry workshops with classes at both schools.


Doctor Who Writer Sarah Dollard Visits Royds

As part of School Diversity Week, Sarah Dollard, who has written two episodes of Doctor Who (Thin Ice and Face The Raven), came into talk to students about diversity on television as well as her writing career.


School Diversity Week at Royds Hall Community School

This week is School Diversity Week at Royds Hall Community School. It is a national event launched by Education Secretary Justine Greening and organised by Just Like Us.
