Parental Right to Withdraw Children from RE

Parents have the right to withdraw their child(ren) from Religious Education (RE) without pressure or influence from the school. We welcome the opportunity to share the educational objectives and content of the RE syllabus with parents. If a pupil is withdrawn from RE, they will be supervised in the school library or another appropriate setting.

Withdrawal Procedure

If a parent wishes to withdraw their child(ren) from RE, they should:

• Inform the school of their request and specify whether the withdrawal is partial or total.
• Submit this request in writing to the Headteacher.
  • Please note: verbal communication (e.g. by telephone, through the student, or by a note in the journal) is not considered an adequate method.
