Meet The Team

Kath Conway

As Deputy Headteacher at Royds Hall Community School I have responsibility for the outcomes of all our students. My main focus to facilitate this is through leading whole school learning and teaching and leading on learning and teaching strategies. Through this area I also look at homework and marking and feedback.

In addition, my role focuses me on Whole School Literacy and improving the love of reading of our students.

I am incredibly proud to be a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Royds Hall and love working with our students to see them develop and reach their potentials.

My Name is Lindsay Johnstone, I am Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for SEN, EAL, pupil premium, wellbeing, careers, student leadership and the alternative provision. In a nutshell ensuring that all children receive the best education they can despite any barriers they may have to learning.

I am passionate about helping young children develop the self-esteem to believe in themselves, feel they belong to our school family and support them to achieve their full potential.  No child should leave Royds Hall without the skills and qualifications to succeed in leading a happy and fulfilled life.

I am passionate about developing a culture that sees students unlock and realise their potential as learners and leave our school as better people.  I am very proud to be a senior leader at our school and am looking forward to the challenge of creating a school environment that helps our students achieve their personal best.

Nikki Wood

I am the safeguarding Lead for the secondary phase of Royds Hall Community School.  My areas of responsibility are safeguarding, behaviour and pastoral support. We/I believe that a student’s/child’s needs to have good quality support and their overall welfare needs met for them to have ‘good’ self-esteem. All these areas need to be provided for them to become confident learners who reach their full potential. Our aim is to ensure we offer an outstanding level of pastoral support within school.
