Meet our Headteacher

I feel privileged to be the Head teacher at Royds Hall Community School because it possesses a wonderful ethos and spirit, where children are placed at the centre.

For many families it is important to know that the Head teacher of their child’s school is suitably experienced and will ensure your child is as important to us, as they are to you.  I have worked for nineteen years across four secondary schools and a sixth form college.  I join Royds Hall from an outstanding local school called Shelley College where I have been the Vice Principal for the last four and half years.  Before I joined Shelley, I was a founding member of the senior leadership team at Rochdale Sixth Form College, and I am exceptionally proud of the fact we were awarded an Ofsted rating of ‘outstanding’ across all categories on first inspection.

I will insist on high expectations for every student in their work, behaviour and personal development.  This will allow us to provide the best educational experience for all.  Our mission is to ensure that all students leave Royds Hall fully equipped with the life skills, experiences and educational outcomes to enjoy a happy and successful future.

Kindest Regards

Mrs Jenny Carr

Children mostly listen well and try hard. They are beginning to take turns and cooperate with each other.

A well-led and extensive programme of lessons, assemblies, and extra-curricular activities promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral and social development well. This is a distinctive strength of the school and has created a positive school culture of mutual respect and understanding.
