Two Valleys Radio work with local community groups and schools in the valleys of Huddersfield, giving them a platform to showcase their events, activities and achievements and also offering young people the opportunity to gain experience in broadcasting, journalism and music production. We were invited by Two Valleys Radio station to take part in their December ‘Education Express’ broadcast. We saw this as a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to inform the listeners of the fantastic things that have been happening at Royds Hall High School and what being a co operative trust school means to us all.

Groups of students and staff were put at ease by Matt, the Two Valleys presenter, as he chatted to them in school about a whole range of activities and events. Following the recordings in school Hanna, Sophie and Shannon joined Mrs Marshall, our Community Engagement Officer on a visit to the Two Valleys Radio Studio in Meltham to present the live broadcast . After overcoming a few nerves they soon got into the swing of things and the programme rolled without a hitch. True professionals!

We hope to maintain our links with Two Valleys Radio by taking part in further Education Express broadcasts. You can hear for yourself how well they all performed by listening in to the December programme here.
