Royds Hall is a successful and over-subscribed school catering for 880 students aged 4 – 16 with a strong reputation in our local community and a growing national reputation for excellence.

We are proud to be a member of the Aspire Cooperative Learning Trust, along with our primary partner schools. We have excellent links with our Trust partners Huddersfield New College, Huddersfield Town Football Club, Huddersfield University, Holmfirth Fair Traders Association and The Centre for Science Education at Sheffield Hallam University.

Grim Tales Competition

Students from across all year groups recently took part in our 'Grim Tales' competition. The students were challenged to write a short story in no more than one hundred words and base their story on an original fairy tale or something of their own creation.


Year 7 Student Raises over £200

Year 7 student, Tania Gabriel, decided to help community 5 boost their donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care by doing a sponsored Swim. Tania completed her 5k swim at Huddersfield Sports Centre cheered on by her friends and family.


Uganda Art Exhibition

Join us to view the art work produced by our GCSE students lead by Uriah Gabriel, a Fine Art student at York University and ex Royds student. Uriah will work for a charity in Uganda this summer helping to build a playground for children.


Royds Hall Students Share Writings at WW1 Exhibition

As the culmination of a project with Kirklees Community Heritage and Education Team, Huddersfield Library and Dewsbury Library are hosting an exhibition of reflections on the experience of Huddersfield conscientious objectors in the First World War.


Maths Challenge 2015

A few months ago Year 9, 10 and 11 sat a Maths challenge, on Thursday 30th April it was the turn of our younger students!


Girls Football Social and Boys Football News

On Friday 24th April, the girls football club went out for a joint social with the girls from Huddersfield grammar. Back in October the club started with 6 girls and we now have 39 girls from the two schools who attend every Friday after school...


The Chicken and the Egg

Royds Hall Community School welcomed 12 new additions to our Reception Class on Monday 20th April. These little eggs have created excitement and inspired our children to explore and design many wonderful things based around the beginning of a chick’s lifecycle.


Magistrates Competition

After weeks of practice, a joint team from Royds Hall and Huddersfield Grammar went to Bradford Magistrates to take part in the Citizenship Foundation's Magistrates Competition.
