Our rocket space seeds have been planted and are starting to grow!

Students at Royds Hall Community School are preparing to become space biologists and embark on a voyage of discovery by growing seeds that have been into space.


Aspire to Play Toy Library

The new Aspire to Play Toy Library opened for the first time at Royds on Friday 15th April. The library has been funded by the Kirklees Rural Committee and is run by Clare Ackroyd, Library Manager at Royds Hall with a group of volunteer students from the secondary phase.


Minibus Driver Wanted

The Aspire Co-operative Learning Trust has a 17 seater minibus jointly owned by the Trust partner schools. We require a driver, aged over 21, who has spare time to help with driving our students to activities and events either in or out of school time.


Harold Wilson Memorial Lecture

As a culmination of the events celebrating the centenary of Harold Wilson's birthday, members of the Debate Club and Humanities Leaders attended the Harold Wilson Memorial Lecture at Huddersfield University.

Wilson 100 - a community centenary celebration

On March 11th 2016 it will be 100 years since Harold Wilson’s birth

The Watershed Community Arts Workshops have been awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to work with Satellite Arts and Royds Hall Community School, where Wilson was educated in Huddersfield.


Senior Students Are Empowered!

On Thursday 3 March our new year 10 Senior students were all given leadership roles for the day, they had to crisis manage a crash on the M62 involving a vehicle carrying a nuclear weapon which released radiation in to the atmosphere.

Group 2 are almost there! After stopping for lunch in the Yorkshire Sculpture Park we have now stopped for a quick break in the forest. Hopefully the group will be back in Emley village on time.

Great team performance from the Year 8 football team tonight. Unfortunately lost 4-3 in the cup quarter final to Kirkburton Middle. Good luck to them in the semi final.
