A Midsummer Night's Dream

Royds Hall Community School created their own interpretation of Act 3, Scene 1 in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the Honley Shakespeare Ensemble.


Debating Club at Two Valleys Radio

Over the last academic year, Royds Hall and Huddersfield Grammar School have been coming together to debate. The debate club has seen teams debate issues from the value of the internet to animal rights.


STEM Competition

Super STEM at Royds Hall! Yet again four brave year 8 students, who have shown excellence across Science, Technology and Mathematics, stepped forward to represent the school in the annual Kirklees STEM competition.


Pedal for Pounds

Last year Royds Hall as part of their work with Huddersfield Town organised their own Pedal for Pounds event. Initially the aim was to get a group of staff to get involved in the event but, it was decided to make it a whole school event / community challenge with the focus on getting as many people involved as possible.


Royds Hall Students Feature on Blue Peter

Last week two of our most talented sports students were selected to be featured on Blue Peter. Maisie Burnand-Martin and Ruben Reuter train with BoK swimming club 5 times a week.


Maths Challenge 2014

We did it again! Maths students of Royds Hall have done the community proud with Megan Royston, in Year 9, becoming our first ever Grey Kangaroo.


Drop Everything And Read Week

Drop Everything And Read Week an innovative approach to promoting a lifelong love of reading among students, pioneered by Royds Hall Community School.


Pi Day

Who's great at all the Pi? The 14th of March is known as Pi day... It's more obvious if you write the date in an American style 3.14, this is the beginning of the irrational number known as Pi.


Maths Inspiration Event

On Pi day Miss Purcell, Mr Bateman and Ms Pickard took a group of year 10 students to the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds to see the Maths Inspiration Lecture Show.


Students visit Houses of Parliament

Twenty students from Royds Hall, along with six from local partner primary schools and two students from Huddersfield New College travelled to London to visit the Houses of Parliament.
