Royds Hall High School

Royds Hall Cooperative Trust

Royds Hall High School became a Cooperative Trust in May 2011, in partnership with Huddersfield New College, Holmfirth Fair Traders, Huddersfield Town Football Club and The Centre of Science Education (CSE) at Sheffield Hallam University.

As a Cooperative School we follow the Cooperative values. The values are:

  • Self-help We help people to help themselves
  • Self-responsibilityWe take responsibility for, and answer to our actions
  • DemocracyWe try to give everyone a say in the way we run our school
  • Equality Everyone has equal rights
  • Equity Our school is fair
  • SolidarityWe share interests and what we do with parents, the community and other cooperatives.

This has brought huge opportunities to the school which we intend to maximise further by developing the stakeholder voice and membership of the Cooperative Trust this term.  A Cooperative Trust is run by its members. Pupils, parents, carers, staff and members of community organisations will all be given the opportunity to become members of our Trust.
