One to One Tuition – Tutors

 

We are looking to appoint Tutor(s) wishing to offer 1-2-1 Tuition for Year 9 students

in English and Mathematics. 

This is an initiative under the former National Secondary Strategies.

Tutors are needed to provide the following:

  • At least 1 hour of tuition (after school) per week for 10 weeks in the Spring Term (this programme will continue into the Summer Term).
  • Follow a plan of tuition that has been personalised to individual students.
  • Monitor the student's progress and keep a brief record of what has been taught over the 10 week period.
  • Feedback at the end of the 10 week period to the student's class teacher and on the success of the programme.

The following conditions as set out by the DfE for becoming a 1-2-1 Tutor:

  • Teaching must be outside the normal school day.
  • The Tutor must have QTS and have CRB clearance (this can be done through school).
  • The Tutor need only be willing to teach English/Mathematics but does not have to have been trained to teach this subject.
  • The Tutor does not have to be on the school staff.
  • The Tutor must plan a sequence of lessons, provide a brief record of what has been covered and monitor the student's progress.
  • The Tutor can tutor more than 1 student each week.
  • Tutors will be paid at the rate of £25 gross per hour
